Alternative Domain Registrar

If anyone has had good experience with a domain registrar, especially one that will register .me names, please let me know. GoDaddy makes me feel icky when i purchase something from them. They charge for default features, and try every step of the way to trick you into selecting something you don’t need when you’re checking out. I can build up my own nginx-rails stack with an MTA, i shouldn’t have to be subject to such horrible scams as “$9.99 account privacy”, when every other registrar provides anonymized WHOIS communication for free.
