If you didn’t know Internet Explorer 6 is crippling the internet right now. If you’re using it, you’re opening up your computer to a ton of vulnerabilities and your experiencing the web like an amish person would experience the interstate: you realize its there, but you’re definetly not getting the most out of it.
If not for you, do it for the coders, having to support IE6 is costing corporations thousands of dollars in development time, and guess who has to support those costs (hint: its the consumers). If that doesn’t make sense to you just stick with the interstate analogy, right now web designers want to design everything for speedy cars, but they have to go in after the fact and add a horse and buggy lane for IE6.
There are definetly better resources out there explaining in detail why IE6 is cripling the net. Please check them out, if you’re using IE6 upgrade, if you can’t because of your job’s network policies, get informed and go talk to someone who can change them. They’ll be amazed that you’re so smart, and saved them from a huge security hole!!
Consider it your civic duty!!
